Three Engagements, Each Matched to a Different Stage of Delivery
Choose the level of support that fits where your project is right now — from a one-day setup session through to a quarter of active advisory.
← Back to HomeHow We Approach Each Engagement
Athwen's advisory model is built on the idea that different project phases need different kinds of support. A team about to start a project does not need the same help as a team already two weeks into delivery. And a project sponsor managing a significant quarter-long initiative has different needs again.
Our three engagements map onto these phases directly. We begin each one by understanding the current state — what's in place, what's missing, who's responsible for what. From there, we apply a structured approach that produces usable outputs at each stage, so the work we do translates into lasting benefit for your team.
Context First
Before recommending anything, we understand what's already in place and what gaps are actually causing friction.
Documented Outputs
Every engagement produces written outputs your team owns and can maintain after our involvement ends.
Review Cadence
Structured check-in points are built into each engagement to catch issues early and keep the plan current.
Clear Handover
We close each engagement with a clear handover so the team knows exactly what to carry forward independently.
Project Setup Session
Duration: 1–2 days · Price: RM 560
A practical engagement that helps a team start a project on solid footing with clear scope, roles, and milestones. We facilitate a kickoff conversation, draft a simple project outline, and agree on how progress will be tracked. Designed for small teams launching a defined initiative.
Key Deliverables
- Project outline document with agreed scope and boundaries
- Milestone list with owner assignments
- Progress tracking template ready to use
How It Works
Pre-session briefing — we review any existing documentation and prepare structured questions for the kickoff.
Facilitated kickoff session — held with your core team, typically half a day, covering scope, roles, and milestone sequencing.
Document delivery — project outline, milestone list, and tracking template are prepared and shared within two working days.
Best Suited For
- Teams about to start a clearly defined project
- Projects where scope hasn't been formally documented
- Small teams (2–10 people) who need a structured starting point
Best Suited For
- Projects in the active delivery phase, typically 4–12 weeks long
- Teams that need structured coordination but not full-time management
- Firms where risk visibility is important to senior stakeholders
Delivery Support Programme
Duration: ~4 weeks · Price: RM 1,620
A focused engagement that supports a team through the middle of a project with steady coordination and practical structure. Our consultants help run check-ins, keep the plan current, and surface risks early so they can be addressed calmly. Suited to firms delivering a multi-week initiative.
Key Deliverables
- Coordination cadence (weekly check-in agenda and notes)
- Risk note — updated fortnightly
- Progress reporting template for stakeholder updates
How It Works
Onboarding — we review your current project state and establish the coordination cadence that fits your team's existing rhythm.
Weekly check-ins — structured sessions with your delivery team to track progress, update the plan, and address emerging issues.
Fortnightly risk note — a brief written summary of the current risk picture shared with you and any relevant stakeholders.
Close-out — at the end of week four, we prepare a progress report and hand over updated documentation to your team.
Project Advisory Retainer
Duration: 3 months · Price: RM 2,900
An ongoing advisory arrangement that gives a project sponsor experienced guidance across a quarter of delivery. We hold regular reviews, advise on priorities, and help the team maintain momentum through changing conditions. Aimed at organisations running a significant initiative.
Key Deliverables
- Monthly advisory sessions (3 sessions total)
- Running status log maintained throughout the quarter
- Closing review report at the end of the three months
How It Works
Orientation — we begin with a review of the initiative scope, current delivery position, and key stakeholders before the first advisory session.
Monthly advisory sessions — scheduled reviews with the project sponsor covering progress, priorities, and forward planning for the next month.
Running status log — a live document we maintain across the quarter, recording decisions, issues, and key developments as they arise.
Closing review — a structured final session plus written report summarising the quarter, outcomes, and recommended next steps.
Best Suited For
- Project sponsors who want experienced advisory without full-time commitment
- Significant initiatives where senior oversight matters
- Organisations that want a consistent external perspective across a quarter

Standards Applied Across All Engagements
Confidentiality
All project information is handled under a confidentiality agreement. We do not discuss engagement details with third parties without your explicit permission.
Documented Scope
Each engagement begins with a written scope statement, reviewed and agreed by both parties before work starts. Changes are handled through a simple written variation process.
Scheduled Reviews
Review points are built into every engagement. We don't wait for problems to become visible — the cadence is designed to surface them earlier.
Plain-Language Deliverables
Our documents are written to be read by people who are busy, not by consultants reviewing their own work. Short, structured, and focused on what is relevant now.
Respectful Conduct
We work with the people in your team as professionals. Observations and recommendations are delivered constructively, and we take the time to understand context before drawing conclusions.
Transparent Reporting
We report what we see, including concerns. We don't soften observations to protect the relationship — accurate information is what makes our advisory valuable.
